Safety & Wellbeing
You don’t have to navigate everything alone
Moving to a new country, raising a family, building a career or simply managing the pressures of everyday life can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Indian Ladies in Ireland aims to create a community where women feel welcome, respected, heard and connected.
Through community conversations, awareness sessions and signposting to appropriate services, we help members find useful information and understand where they can turn when they need additional support.
Wellbeing & Awareness Sessions
ILI periodically organises talks, workshops and community conversations around issues affecting women and families.
These may include topics such as:
- Women’s health and wellbeing
- Mental wellbeing and managing stress
- Domestic violence and abuse awareness
- Personal and community safety
- Parenting and family wellbeing
- Healthy relationships
- Accessing services and understanding where to seek help
Where appropriate, we invite professionals, specialists and organisations working in these areas to share information and speak directly with our community.
Finding the Right Support
Sometimes a member may approach our community because she is unsure where to begin.
ILI can help signpost women towards appropriate official, professional or specialist services in Ireland. This may include services relating to women’s health, mental wellbeing, domestic abuse, family support, housing, immigration and other areas.
If you are looking for support or are unsure where to begin, you can find key emergency and specialist support contacts further down this page. You can also contact ILI and we can help signpost you towards appropriate information or services.
A Safe & Respectful Community
We want ILI’s online and in-person spaces to be welcoming and respectful.
Members are expected to communicate respectfully, protect the privacy of others and avoid sharing another person’s private information, photographs or personal circumstances without permission.
Our community groups are moderated by volunteer team members, and membership of our online groups may be subject to verification.
Women Supporting Women
One of ILI’s greatest strengths is the community itself.
Whether someone is newly arrived in Ireland, going through a difficult period, looking for information or simply hoping to meet other women, our community provides opportunities to connect, talk and build supportive friendships.
Sometimes that begins with attending a coffee morning, joining a community event or simply having a conversation with another woman who understands.
