Supporting women settling in Ireland
ILI offers a practical peer network for women adjusting to a new country. Members help one another understand everyday life, find reliable information and feel confident asking questions. Common areas include connecting members with appropriate resources and channels for immigration and visa queries, as well as careers and job searches, education, parenting, housing and local services. Members who are new to Ireland can also explore our practical resources and guidance.
Careers, leadership and representation
ILI promotes the participation and visibility of women in professional, civic and public life. Programmes have explored women in technology, women in politics, leadership, career development and pathways to restarting a career after relocation.
Women entrepreneurs and local talent
ILI provides women-led start-ups and small businesses with opportunities to showcase their services, build networks and reach a wider audience.
Culture and community connection
ILI celebrates India’s diverse traditions through festivals, dance, music, food and storytelling. Events such as Holi and Teej create a sense of home while welcoming guests from different backgrounds and strengthening Indian-Irish cultural understanding.
Charity and community care
ILI has organised charitable initiatives including fundraising, sensory-toy donations for children with additional needs and a food-for-all initiative in Dublin city centre in collaboration with the Gurudwara.
Safety, wellbeing and informed conversations
ILI creates space for important and supportive conversations, including campaigns and talks addressing violence against women, women’s rights, family wellbeing and child protection.
