Our Story
Indian Ladies in Ireland (ILI) is a welcoming and supportive community for Indian women across Ireland, founded in 2017 to create opportunities for connection, friendship and mutual support.
Founded by Supriya Singh, the community grew from her own experience of rebuilding personal and professional connections. She recognised the need for a welcoming network where Indian women could connect, ask practical questions, share experiences and support one another.
The community grew rapidly. Within weeks, hundreds of women had connected online, followed by an early in-person gathering and a public flash mob on Grafton Street in August 2017 to celebrate Indian Independence Day.
What began as a space for social connection gradually developed into a wider support network, offering friendship, community connections, career and employment information, practical signposting, and opportunities for women to share their skills, talents and businesses.
Today, ILI brings together more than 6,000 Indian women across Ireland. Its work combines community support, cultural celebration, women’s empowerment, charitable action and intercultural engagement, helping members maintain a meaningful connection with their Indian heritage while building their lives and contributing to communities across Ireland.
